Justification of a Shoe Farm
More than one man has questioned my shoe farm consisting of leather uppers. Justification seems to puzzle man. You see, throughout time mothers have passed on to daughters the fact that owning the right pair of shoes can “make” or “break” your outfit. We are weaned on this concept and exposed to it the first time we enter the mall with mother. It occurs right about the same time that we are able to look at all of the pretty styles eye level. Similar to the way man is captivated by the perfect 10 point buck, women see the shoe and know that it is the top brick in our style pyramid. We know other women will covet the shoes we have hunted, captured and made our own. Just as we (women) are part squirrel and bass, drawn in by the sparkle of a rhinestone or diamond, so to can the shoe captivate our attention. Usually I go for the shoes that brand names end in a vowel. If the brand ends in “I” or “O” they are usually from Italy or Spain. This usually denotes comfort, reliability and the most important feature, style. So men, don’t question the shoes, that are on our feet attached to our wonderful stems. Respect the hunt, and make more room in the closet, for if you even considered bringing home a rectangular box smelling like fresh leather marked Vanelli, Via Spiga or Manollo you may just get lucky.
